Pottery Barn Teen

It’s the age-old question: Pottery Barn or West Elm? Well, now you can have it all because West Elm and Pottery Barn Teen just launched a very grown-up collaboration. West Elm x Pottery Barn Teen combines West Elm’s signature mid century modern style and Pottery Barn Teen’s fun sensibility. The whole 20-piece collection is a true gem.

“There is so much inherent synergy in this collaboration with our sister brand, West Elm," Jennifer Kellor, the President of Pottery Barn Teen, tells MyDomaine. "We decided to partner on a modern collection to offer the customer something functional and beautiful, deeply rooted in our sustainability and quality commitments.”

This collection is as much about sustainability as it is about style. All the wood is GREENGUARD Gold, FSC and Fair Trade Certified. GREENGUARD Gold certification means that the products are made without the 10,000+ chemicals and VOCs tknown to cause indoor air pollution, making for a cleaner product and home.

FSC products are made of sustainably sourced materials in a way that preserves biological diversity, as well as conserves water resources and ecosystems.

Fair Trade certification requires manufacturers to meet certain standards for the health and safety of the workers, who are paid fairly for their labor.

Storage In Spades

The functionality of this line is hardly kid stuff. Adults (and teens with great taste in furniture) will appreciate the innovativeness of this collection, which includes everything from larger pieces of furniture like beds and desks to accent rugs and lighting. The pieces were all designed with a purpose in mind, and include smart touches like USB ports and lots of extra built-in storage.

Shoppable on both West Elm and Pottery Barn Teen, these are the must-have items we've got our eyes on.

Available in full and queen sizes with a choice of either white or acorn wood, this bed was inspired by 1950s and 1960s silhouettes with iconic angled legs and clean lines.

While most storage beds have drawers, this one has cabinets and shelves built into the headboard. So, it’s a great choice if you don't have room to pull out drawers. The cabinets are an ideal spot for storing extra sheets and pillowcases, or a throw blanket for those cold winter nights.

The shelves are great for styling books or displaying knickknacks. Another bonus of the bed is that it’s easy to assemble and has a slat roll foundation. So, a box spring isn’t required.

Finally, a piece of furniture that solves a big problem. Most writing desks don’t have space for a mirror or anywhere to stash away makeup. And it’s pretty hard to find room for a computer on most vanities. But this thoughtfully designed piece can do it all, with an easily removable vanity top (the mirror and two drawers), giving you extra room to work. However, at 48 inches wide, the tabletop is more than large enough to keep both the vanity and a laptop on.

Available in white, pebble, or acorn wood, the vanity desk features a total of five drawers to really maximize storage. The simple bronze accents are the perfect accouterments to this piece.

USB lamps are perhaps the most useful accessories ever invented, and this one is no exception. Finished in bronze, it stands out thanks to its sophisticated gold orb. While it could be used in a home office or nightstand, it would look just as great on a side table adjacent to a sofa.

With a corkboard, LED touch lighting, hidden USB and power compartment, it’s safe to say, this is one efficient piece of furniture.
