While summer may seem like it's light-years away, West Elm's new 2018 lookbook has officially brought sunshine into our lives (mainly in the form of the Greer dining chair). Replete with vibrant, colorful furniture, desert-inspired artwork, and watercolor throw pillows (we're obsessed), the retailer's new offerings were inspired by sunny hues, soft ocean waves, sunset clouds, and the artist mecca known as Marfa, Texas. If, like us, you're struggling to decide which aesthetic to embrace this season, we've unearthed the three most prominent trends in its summer 2018 lookbook below. Keep scrolling for an idea of which décor trends will be populating your Instagram feed come June.
"It's the palette of ocean waves and sunset clouds, translated into soft washes of color on everything from sea glass vases to paint-erly pillows to abstract rugs. Add a stroke of luminous, easy-to-live-with watercolors to your rooms this season."
"This season we were inspired by the artistic mecca of Marfa, Texas, where pioneering artists have been going since the 1970s to create large-scale sculptures against the vast canvas of the desert. Industrial loft meets desert simplicity. Colorblocked rugs and wall hangings layer in modern art, while re-claimed wood furniture offers rustic comfort."
