Your metabolism can also see a boost and you're sure to get a better night's sleep, too. Sounds like a win-win, right? And while it might be, don't make the mistake of jumping back on the alcohol wagon in full force when you're not ready. Another doctor told Self that "even moderate drinkers who stop drinking for two months tend to over-drink when they start again."
Our advice? Start slow. You don't need to cut alcohol from your life completely, but see what happens after a few days of replacing your favorite gin and tonic with a cup of tea. It won't be long until you stop craving all those tasty holiday cocktails.
