"I never stay anywhere for more than three days," Diane von Furstenberg tells Travel and Leisure. One of her favorite places in the world to spend those few days at a time is Claridges in London. In fact, the designer collaborated with the luxury hotel to redesign 20 hotel rooms back in 2010. When you're in London, make sure to book a reservation at Zuma for scrumptious Asian fusion cuisine and positively lovely cocktails. Also, make sure to book a show in the West End. London theater is the best in the world and no visit to this thriving metropolis is complete without it.
Beauty entrepreneur Emily Weiss has joined the ranks of Donna Karan, Tommy Ton, and Derek Lam by vacationing on the private island of Parrot Cay. Owned by COMO Hotels and Resorts, the island is positively flawless. With endless white sand beaches, crystal blue water, and fresh produce for days, the only problem with this dream destination is the price. Beach villas start at $1000 per night. To quote Weiss, "Parrot Cay is all about understated luxury. The main luxury being that it's super private."
With her buttery blonde locks and sun-kissed skin, Gwyneth Paltrow is the epitome of Hamptons chic. Her family beach abode is often featured in her Instagram feed and photos of her epic Hamptons soirees, like her Goop and Net-a-Porter dinner, appear in Vogue. When we're in town we make it a point to visit one of Paltrow's favorite shops called Housefolk. The beautifully curated home goods shop is the work of a husband and wife duo who know French stoneware and recycled paper stationery better than anyone else. When in the Hamptons, stay at Gurney's Resort and Sweawater Spa. Expect epic sunsets, flawless service, and elegant design.
Jessica Alba loves traveling with her family to Cabo San Lucas for vacation under the Mexican sun. The actress and founder of The Honest Company enjoys water sports and good old fashioned chill time on the sand. There are some pretty epic vacation spots all around Mexico, but if you're in the Cabo area make sure to stay at Esperanza Resort. Nestled into a shallow rock cliff that lines the sea, this stunning resort is gorgeous from all angles. We love the variety of poolside retreats and the positively mind-blowing spa. Get your glow on with a mud bath and signature facial. Flora's Farm Kitchen is also a must-visit while in Cabo. The organic farm-to-table recipes are a Hollywood favorite and the food is well worth the trip.
Celebrity hairstylist and beauty entrepreneur Jen Atkin designs the manes of every celebrity whose hair we covet—hello, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba, and Jenna Dewan Tatum. While largely unfazed by the most glamorous parts of Hollywood, Atkin was recently blown away by Costa Rica. "Why didn't anyone tell me before that Costa Rica is only a four and half hour flight from LA? Hawaii and Mexico are dead to me!" Atkin proclaimed on her Instagram. Our favorite resort in this tropical paradise is the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo. We've never seen views quite so magical.
Reese Witherspoon has been known to travel to Tulum, Mexico with girlfriends Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz for Bikini Bootcamp and some quality R&R. If you're in Tulum, make sure to visit Coqui Coqui Tulum Residence & Spa for a life-changing massage experience with artisanal perfumes and body oils. And you can’t go to Tulum without dining at Hartwood. The menu changes daily based on what the sea and sand have to offer this organic food shelter. This is the ultimate getaway when all you want to do is detox and treat your body right. Stay at the Papaya Playa Project for a bohemian escape nestled between the jungle and the Caribbean Ocean.
Tory Burch designed an entire season after being inspired by her trip to Morocco. We highly recommend booking your next adventure in Marrakech. Bursting with color, history, and a welcoming population, the eclectic city is one of the most magical places on earth and it has been a muse for creative talent from around the world. Join the likes of rock royalty and the fashion elite by coming to this vibrant metropolis. We recommend staying at Riad el Fenn. Nestled in the heart of the Moroccan medina, this seductive retreat used to be an actual palace. In 2004, Richard Branson’s sister Vanessa Branson opened her eponymous art gallery in the space and helped redesign the interiors. The result? An eclectic blend of old-school Moroccan charm and contemporary art.
