Let me start off by saying I was engaged for two years before I got married. I am a very picky person with pretty much everything. Luckily I had the help of my older sister Ashley, a professional wedding planner, to help me make my outrageously detailed vision for my wedding come to life. It was with her expertise, my husband’s support, and the hard-learned tips below that truly helped me not only have the wedding of my dreams, but also show up to our special day feeling the best I could have felt. These 10 items below are the must-have details that’ll make your day run more smoothly and beautifully.
I designed these custom robes for all my besties and family members to wear on my wedding day while we got ready. It was as if everyone were on Team Whit! I loved the print—it was very reflective of my wedding decor, which was desert chic (that's what I called it, anyway)—and got everyone's nicknames embroidered in pink cursive. My friends and family tell me that it's the gift that keeps on giving, because whenever they wear it, they think of my wedding day.
I pretty much used one of these every week for a month leading up to the wedding. It hydrates and nourishes my skin like no other, and the eye masks are also incredible.
I was actually able to design custom bags with The Beach People and use them as my wedding favors. These bags are so cute, super affordable, and stand the test of time. I have seen so many of my guests continue to use them. Oh, also, do not wait until the last minute to put these together. We did and it ended up taking my family two days (the Thursday and Friday of the wedding weekend) to organize. No fun.
I swear by this. I used this mask a ton leading up to the wedding and still continue to do so! I sleep with the mask on my hair and twist into a bun. After I wake up, I work out with the mask still on. Then I shower and my hair is soft as silk.
Okay, so I know what you’re thinking: a white bikini, so obvious! However, this is not your typical bridal bikini. It fits SO well, is super soft and comfortable, and looks cute with denim shorts or overalls (great to wear during the wedding weekend).
I got the awesome opportunity to design my own line of wedding invitations with Wedding Paper Divas. We created six different designs that come in a multitude of colors. So whether you are having a rustic, funky, or whimsical wedding, there is a design for you. My favorite is definitely the Lavish Laurel! You can do everything online and the all the customization options are super affordable.
For our Friday night rehearsal dinner, we opted out of doing a typical sit-down dinner and rented out a bowling alley. Of course, it came with the need for everyone to wear bowling shoes, which meant I could design one of my all-time favorite things—socks! Both men and women got custom socks that they can wear forever and think of Timmy and me.
