As Warner Bros. confirmed late Tuesday night, Gal Gadot will star in a Wonder Woman sequel premiering December 13, 2019. According to The Hollywood Reporter, talks with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins are currently in the works for the second film, though nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
The first film, which premiered June 2 of this year, was both a cultural and financial success. It was the first female superhero blockbuster with a female director, and it finally gave young girls the strong, courageous role model they've been waiting for.
It was, of course, also a success at the box office—it was the highest-grossing superhero film in more than 15 years, bringing in over $389 million to date (and it even surpassed Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2). Needless to say, we're beyond excited for the sequel and can't way to see Gadot fiercely embody the character again.
